Buganda: The Buganda Kingdom, through the Ministry of Environment, has signed a partnership with ECO SAFE to distribute biogas farms in Buganda regions in 18 provinces.

The program will start in Bulemeezi.

Launching the alliance, the Speaker of the Buganda Parliament, Oweek Patrick Luwaga Mugumbule, stressed the importance of environmental protection in the development of the world, saying that countries like China entered the rivers, and now every rainfall, people are scattered due to floods to attack them.

He urged leaders to fight against environmental pollution and impose strict laws to save people’s lives.

Mr Mugumbule thanked Eco safe for coming out to save the environment, and their program will provide jobs to the youth to fight poverty.

Oweek Mariam Nkalubo Mayanja, whose Environment Affairs falls under her ministry, said the project would focus on the youth, and many will get jobs, with every torero a youth builds benefiting more.

He said the Kingdom will also benefit financially from the programme.

He said BUCADE will train people on the use and planning of Biogas in the Buganda regions.

Mr. Banadda Nswa, President of ECO SAFE, said the biogas plant produces fertilizer, and a farmer can use it in the field to increase yields by 30%.

He said these days, the soil is so old that to get the most out of it, it is necessary to re-fertilize it. Biogas will help a lot in this regard.

He added that this system helps maintain the cleanliness of the places where it is used, especially for those who raise livestock and save people from diseases.

Similarly, the partnership aims to train youth in the construction and maintenance of biogas.
