New Delhi [India]: Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed great pleasure on President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi visiting India for the Republic Day parade.
He tweeted, “It is with immense pleasure that we welcome President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to India. His historic visit to our nation as the Chief Guest for our Republic Day celebrations is something to be celebrated. I’m looking forward to our conversations tomorrow.” President el-Sisi arrived in New Delhi this evening and was warmly welcomed. He is going to be the primary guest of the 74th Republic Day parade.”
Five Ministers and senior officials high-level delegation will accompany President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, from January 24 to January 27.
It is noteworthy that this is the first occasion that the President of Egypt has been invited to attend the event as the honoured guest at the celebration of Republic Day.
Moreover, India and Egypt are going to celebrate their 75 years of establishment of diplomatic relations in 2023. India also invited Egypt as a guest country to their G-20 meeting.
Egyptian President’s updated website mentioned that President El-Sisi’s has been invited to attend Republic Day as a guest of honour, which is a reflective of the convergence between the two countries.
The statement additionally shows India’s high regard for Egypt’s leadership, government, and citizens, as well as its eagerness to bolster collaboration between the two friendly nations as two of the most major burgeoning countries with essential parts concerning numerous regional and international matters.
According to the statement, the spokesman said that the President’s visit to India coincides with the 75th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Egypt and India.
As per the MEA schedule, Sisi will meet Indian President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, among others, at Rashtrapati Bhawan.
During his stay, Sisi will meet with PM Modi and discuss bilateral, regional and global issues of mutual interest.
As per the reports, President Droupadi Murmu will also host a state banquet in honour of the visiting dignitary.
Sisi will also be meeting with Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, where they will discuss the business community of India, and he will leave India for Cairo on January 27.
