Islamabad (Pakistan): The turmoil in Gilgit-Baltistan is increasing day by day, and now it is a matter of concern for the whole of Pakistan. According to Pakistani media reports, the residents of Pakistan have been demanding to get united with Islamabad.
However, the Pakistan media has tried to sideline the matter and haven’t cared to cover the ongoing protests. All of Pakistan, except Punjab, want separation and wish to become part of India.
According to the Islam Khabar report, it can be harmful to Pakistan’s description of the whole Kashmir dispute.
India, so far, has not responded anything officially. However, it is likely that India would cite these protests against Pakistan when the Kashmir dispute is discussed in global events, it said.
India has held onto their stance that Kashmir is a part of their country, while Pakistan has been pushing for the freedom of the region, accusing India of human rights violations.
Reports also stated that Indian media, their activists and the Indian government regularly emphasized the protest in Pakistan and Pakistan’s demands towards Kashmir, and Pakistan’s military oppression, unemployment, lack of basic rights, high inflation and unsustainable resource exploitation, among others.
The Islamabad government is yet to realize that such demands for unification will definitely come up.
Meanwhile, a video from Pakistan has been spreading on all social media platforms in which citizens can be seen chanting slogans against the Pakistan government and army and demanding their region be annexed to Kargil, which falls in India’s Ladakh region.
The protests have gained international attention in recent months, with the United Nations and other international organizations expressing concern about the situation. The Pakistani government is yet to respond to the demands of the protesters, and the situation remains unresolved.
India has called upon the government of Pakistan to take necessary steps to restore normalcy and provide security and safety to the people of Gilgit-Baltistan. India also reaffirmed its support for the right of the people of Gilgit-Baltistan to peacefully pursue their aspirations.
