Saint Lucia: Sponsors were announced for the seven beauties who would be contesting for the 2024 edition of the National Carnival Queen Pageant. Dr Ernest Hilaire, who has the responsibility for overseeing the National Carnival has shared the update regarding the presentation of the sponsors.
The presentation of the sponsors was accompanied by the sashing ceremony of the seven delegates of the National Carnival Queen pageant. Dr Hilaire shared the details of the event on his social media along with some glimpses from the ceremony.
The sashing ceremony hosted at Sandals Grande on Friday evening was also streamed live for the people of Saint Lucia. The people who could not attend the event in person were given the opportunity to experience the ceremony from the comfort of their homes.
The National Carnival Queen Pageant is a very important part of the culture of Saint Lucia. The event is commemorating 70 years. To honour the long standing the history of the pageant, delegates were sashed by Queens from the previous years.
Some of the queens who attended the sashing ceremony for the 2024 delegates reigned as far back as 1973.
The Chairperson of the National Carnival Queen Pageant Committee, Trevor King delivered his brief remarks at the event. He spoke of the significance of the event for the people of Saint Lucia and appreciated the thought of including the previous queens.
He was also happy to pay his tribute to the previous National Carnival Queens. He called the pageant as the most beautiful part of the National Carnival Festival. Dr Ernest Hilaire is handling the responsibility for the Saint Lucia for several years.
He was happy seeing the turnout of the sashing ceremony of the seven delegates contending for the title of the National Carnival Queen of Saint Lucia. The following delegates will be competing for the title of National Carnival Queen 2024:
Aeryn George – Miss Windjammer Landing & Residences
Anneka Thompson – Miss Bank of Saint Lucia
Kadin Antoine – Miss Caribcation
Menella Sebaram – Miss Caribbean Galaxy & Real Estate
Shan Lucien – Miss Bounty Rum
Tunisia President – Miss Pierre Marcel
Yaneil Joseph – Miss Duty Free Pointe Seraphine.
The Delegates would become the ambassadors for their respective brands.
The Carnival Planning and Management Committee honoured the stakeholders of the National Carnival Queen pageant. The head The Chairperson of the Carnival Planning & Management Committee, Tamara Gibson honored Maria Monrose, for her contribution to the National Carnival Queen Show.
Monrose served as the head of the planning committee for several years and helped make the event a resounding success. The other stakeholders whose contributions were highlighted by the CPMC included: Sean Greaves, local costume designer, talent coordinator, and trainer.
Massy Stores were also honored for being the sponsors for the pageant for over twenty years.
