Burna Boy singlehandedly sold out the 80,000-capacity London Stadium as the first African artist in history to ever do so on the same day the FA Cup Final was held, on the same night Beyoncé and Coldplay had their Stadium concerts in the UK.

Wizkid teased his London Stadium date the same week Burna Boy did. The initial date was so close to Burna Boy’s date just so he could gain clout off ODG’s announcement, but it backfired.

Then he cancelled the 80,000-capacity London Stadium date and announced the 60,000-capacity Tottenham Stadium. Ever since then, he’s been struggling to sell out the venue for over ten months despite allegedly selling out the 15,000-capacity O2 Arena greatly in just 5 seconds.

Meanwhile, Burna Boy has sold out 3 Stadiums in the Caribbean [Trinidad and Tobago, Antigua and Barbuda, and Jamaica] since 2022.

Furthermore, Burna Boy has also sold out the London Stadium in the UK, Paris La Defense in France, Gelredome Arnhem Stadium in the Netherlands and the Citi Field Stadium in the USA — just in the first half of 2023.

Wizkid’s biggest gig of all time to date is tonight. At the 60,000-capacity Tottenham Stadium in the UK, and despite announcing the Cavemen and Masego as performing artists for the show, despite giving out over 25,000 free tickets to Tottenham residents and other UK residents, the show wasn’t sold out and very scanty which is very bad for the “Afrobeats to the world” movement.

With all said and done, it’s very important to note that — being a “global mega superstar” is one thing, and being a “multi-stadium touring artist” is another.

Burna Boy is the only African artist to have achieved both feats easily because he’s the best live performer to walk the earth, he’s unmatched, he’s the overall best, the greatest ever to do it, and he’s the blueprint.
