Botswana, Gaborone: The three day Fashion Without Borders extravaganza came to an end with an exclusive fashion showcase at Gaborone International Convention Center on Saturday.
The fashion showcase kicked off with a breast cancer walk by elite celebrities, including Kagiso De Clerk, Mpho Sebina, and Samantha Mogwe, dubbed a walk for a cause to commemorate breast cancer awareness month.
A total of 11 designers showcased their designs while 48 models paraded on the runway. Out of the 11 fashion designers, six were from Botswana, four from South Africa and a joint collection from 2 designers, one from South Africa and the other from the Democratic Republic of Congo.
A variety of collections which can be worn at different functions were showcased. Kiddies collection by Myesha-K, a nine year old fashion designer from Botswana, had a standing ovation after showcasing denim streetwear designs.
Upon a successful night of celebrating African fashion, three designers- La-Letsatsi Creations and Glotto, both from Botswana and the FDB human store from South Africa made it to the top 3 selections for the Price retail store internship program for three weeks in order to learn about textile production on larger scales.
Joszybyr from South Africa and Naledi Maifane from Botswana were selected for the second round of the mentorship programme powered by CTM.
