Zambia: The president of the Football Association of Zambia-FAZ, Andrew Kamanga, has offered his voice on the controversy started by striker, Fashion Sakala . The football player made some strong allegations against National Team Coach, Avram Grant, Administrators and fellow players.
The president of the Football Association claimed that the investigaton of the claims must be done under maximum attention. He has assured that he is giving significant attention to the matter and pledged to bring justice.
According to the recent reports, Sakala is heard accusing the Coach of having told him that he will never be called to the team as long as he remained at the helm. Notably, the striker has been omitted from the squad since the Africa Cup of Nations in February, 2024.
A voice recording of the striker saying these words is going extremely viral. The members of the Football Association claimed that the striker had spoken to several stakeholders regarding his dissatisfaction.
The striker was speaking to FAZ Communications Manager, Sydney Mungala regarding his views on why he was not playing for the team. He alleged that one of the reasons for his continued snub for national duty was that he refused to work with a named agent who also represents Grant.
In his Weekly Soccer Writeup Update posted on Monday, Kamanga states that FAZ will not delve into the merits and demerits of the accusations at this point.
He however confirms that an inquiry has been opened, adding that for it to yield positive results, key witnesses, including the player, must tender in all the relevant evidence to the Ethics Committee.
Meanwhile, Kamanga notes that the Chipolopolo resume camp this week ahead of the back-to-back matches against Morocco and Tanzania.
