FAZ arrange matches to strengthen Chile 2024 qualifier squad

Zambia: The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) decided to organize a match between Under 17 and All Stars as part of strengthening the squad for the Chile 2024 World Cup qualifiers squad.

The match is going to be held in February, in which Zambia will play Tanzania in back-to-back second-round qualifiers for the Chile 2024 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Following the graduation of some players to the under-20 Women’s National Team who are currently not eligible to play in the Under-17 team, the technical bench will be reorganizing the team.

As per the reports, all 10 provinces will send a team to Lusaka where they will compete on a round robin basis.

The technical experts will then select 22 players from the provincial teams to compete against the provisional under-17 national team.

Players will converge in Lusaka on January 3, with the highlight of the trials being the All Stars versus The Rest match on January 6.

The residents of Lusaka are happy with the idea of the FAZ team. One of the locals said, “It sounds like a very good idea; the problem is that you like to select your relatives. That’s one of the reasons football in Zambia has gone down.”

FAZ also shared the team details:
