Zambia: The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) wishes to congratulate the Zambia Women’s National Team for qualifying for the Morocco 2024 Women Africa Cup of Nations after beating Angola 6-0 on the night and 12-0 on aggregate.

FAZ president Andrew Kamanga says the Copper Queens have made the nation proud by qualifying for their third consecutive WAFCON.

“On behalf of my executive committee and myself, I wish to congratulate the Copper Queens and the technical bench for sealing qualification to next year’s WAFCON. The Copper Queens brand has continued to grow and established itself as a regular at international tournaments,” says Kamanga.

Furthermore, he asserted, “It is a mark of great pride that the Zambian flag will fly at the WAFCON for the third consecutive time. It goes without saying that the graph speaks for itself having always bettered our performance progressively at every tournament.”

The FAZ president says with qualifications attained; the next step will be laying the ground for quality preparations.

“As we have done for any single team that has qualified for major tournaments, we will liaise with the technical bench over an intensive preparatory program,” he says.

Kamanga thanked the thousands of fans that turned up at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola to spur the Copper Queens to victory on their debut at the 44,000-capacity stadium.

“Thanks to the fans that thronged Levy Mwanawasa Stadium and, lit the atmosphere and gave our girls an extra push. We urge the fans to continue with the same spirit,” he says.

“Thanks to the FAZ secretariat staff for working hard and making this qualification a reality.”

The Copper Queens beat Angola 6-0 on Tuesday evening to confirm their ticket for the Morocco 2024 Women Africa Cup of Nations on a 12-0 aggregate.

Residents are hoping for no issues in future, as one of the users wrote, “Hope there will be no issues again with BB11 and others. You have never told us how the issue was resolved and concluded patalalafye. We know, ngamulalyamo, in her absence this time, you should feel for us. Otherwise, we will come for you.”
