The operatives of the FCT police command put the robbers behind the bars on April 23, 2024 around 3:00 p.m. robbery kingpins were identified as Ibrahim Haliru’m aged 45, who is an ex-convict of Kano State and another thief as Babangida Mohammed‘m’ aged 27 of Mararaba, Nasarawa State.
As per the sources, the two were apprehended in connection to a series of car thefts from unsuspecting residents in FCT and its environs.
The Public Relation Officer for the Commissioner of Police, FCT command, Abuja – SP Josephine Adeh said that the suspects who have been on the wanted list of the command for the past few months, have now been trailed and arrested with the aid of digital reconstruction intelligence in a hotel situated in Nasarawa, while lavishing the proceeds of their crimes.
According to the reports, five vehicles were recovered and removed from where parked and myriads of items have been reasonably suspected to be charms, as they were recovered from the suspects.
The PRO of FCT command, Abuja has also urged the residents to take all the necessary steps in protecting the valuables.
Furthermore, the commissioner of police in FCT – CP Benneth C. Igweh, psc, mni has reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to ensure the safety and security of life, including all the major properties of the residents of Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Notably, commissioner police CP Benneth C.Igweh has also advised the residents to stay vigilant and take advantage of the police emergency lines and report regarding anything or any activity happening suspiciously in their neighbourhood.
As the safety and security of the residents is a priority and concerns the FCT. So to curb the problem it is important to remain in direct contact with the people and supervise the locations timely.
The Nigerian Police has been showing keen interest in tackling such issues and has taken strict actions against the same, as the increase in theft is harming the locals.
