Shakira to make world dance again with her new FIFA Song ‘Dai Dai’. The official music video is a collaboration with Afrobeat artist Burna Boy and dropped just hours ago on May 23, 2026.
The song features names of various football players and some of them alike Messi themselves appeared in the video. Surprisingly, the MV features various a prominent landmark of Mexico City in the beginning which is known as El Ángel de la Independencia (that translates to – The Angel of Independence). It is officially called the Monumento a la Independencia.

The video also features famous kids dance group ‘Smash Talent Kids Africa’ from Uganda. The song also shows the Maracanã Stadium of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. And, mainly features almost every hotspot of African region.
But Why Shakira?
FIFA World Cup 2026 is back with a thumping song Dai Dai which translates to ‘Let’s Go’. And, that’s not it she said the word in different languages. You’ll hear her saying Dai Dai in Italian; Iko in Japanese; Dale in Spanish; Allez in French and Let’s Go in English.
But why is it always Shakira? She’s the first ever choice for FIFA anthems. And the clear answer to this is that – because no one else could create the cultural moment that she did with Waka Waka, remember!
See it’s not like the FIFA never tried anyone else, they did tried to put the same or even more impact by inviting Pitbull, Jennifer Lopez (JLo) and even with the widely known BTS member Jungkook, nut nothing worked as Shakira. Honestly, we don’t even remember the names of those songs.
So, the World Cup song has to work in 200 countries equally as Waka Waka did. The stats say itself, the song has over 4 billion YouTube views, over 1 million Spotify streams and is still plat at events all around the world.

Along with it, this time they paired Shakira with African sensation Burna Boy, as the 2026 edition has more African nations than ever before Burna Boy is the biggest name in Afrobeats on the planet, at present. This FIFA World Cup is directly addressing the 1.4 billion people on the African continent.
A successful World Cup song gives FIFA increased fandom. An increased viewership and there’s nothing to hide the truth that all of this also gives them truckloads of money.

Previous FIFA Anthems by Shakira
Well, this is not for the first time Shakira is lending her voice for FIFA World Cup. Earlier, she made songs for the previous world cup’s too.
The first ever song sung by her was ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ for FIFA World Cup 2006. Then she created a banger titled ‘Waka Waka’ in 2010. Followed by ‘La La La’ in 2014. And then now ‘Dai Dai’ for FIFA World Cup 2026.
