Mandela Day is not meant to be commemorated as a public holiday but to celebrate as a day of honour marking the legacy of Nelson Mandela who was South Africa’s former and the first president. The day remembers his values through volunteering and community service.
Notably, Mandela Day is a global call to action which celebrates the idea that everyone has the power to transform the world, and the ability to make an impact globally.
