Gaborone, Botswana: Estate Construction Company (PTY) Ltd has donated a manual wheelchair worth US $50 (P669.39). The aim of the donation was to improve the life of the person who received the wheelchair. The individual was a beneficiary of the Social and Community Development Committee.
The name of the beneficiary has not been made public by the officials of the S&CD Committee. As per the officials of the has been using crutches since February 2023. He lost his leg due to a medical condition. The wheelchair will help him in improving their mobility and add tremendously to his quality of life.
The Deputy Mayor of Gaborone Oduetse Tautona appreciated Estate Construction for the gesture. Additionally Tautona said there is a blessing to every hand that gives back to the fellow sister/brother.
For her part, Social and Community Development committee Chairperson Honourable Joyce Tumagole appreciated Estate Company for taking into consideration their plea for help which is in line with their mandate within Corporate Social responsibility. Honourable Tumagole encouraged Estates Company to continue giving back to people in the society.
Estate Company (PTY) Ltd Procurement officer, Violet Lopang thanked Social and Community Development Committee for reaching out to them to help in the community and emphasized that it is crucial for Social and Community Development Committee to identify those in need and offer them assistance.
The people of Gaborone have also appreciated the Estate Construction Company (PTY) Ltd for their generous donation. The Gaborone City Council social media account features a number of images from the handover ceremony.
The recipient shared his gratitude to the organization for their generosity. The handover ceremony for the wheelchair was attended by several members of the team Estate Construction Company (PTY) Ltd.
Stakeholders of the Social and Community Development Committee and the Gaborone City Council were present at the ceremony. The recipient waited for this donation for more than eight months.
