Ghana welcomed the SH Vega Cruise Ship at Elmina Fishing Harbour on April 18, last week. It is the first cruise vessel that was received by the Ghana Tourism Industry with the support of the GPHA Port of Takoradi.
Reportedly, Ghana is one of the favourite destinations of cruise passengers all across the world with Tema and Takoradi being the traditional Ports of call. The SH Vega is the first cruise vessel to reach at the Port since its commissioning in 2023 under the auspices of the Ministry of Transport.
Cruise ship SH Vega offers the passengers a personal experience and the opportunity to share the experiences in real time. The vessel is designed to provide excellent opportunities to view the nature surrounding the vessel and ensuring facilities with their expansive views.
SH Vega has its own expedition laboratory and a library for studying marine life. Experienced exploration managers and experts have given presentations in the lounge.
Moreover, the key part of the vessel’s program is to offer boat trips on inflatables to interesting surrounding areas. There are also Kayaks, equipment for hiking trips, etc., that are installed on the ship.
The cruise ship also has gym, spa & sauna, highly standardised restaurants, club room and a swimming pool with pool bars.
Vessel has Decks and Cabins consisting of 76 SH Vega staterooms which are all 5-star accommodations that can serve 152 passengers. All 70 cabins and 6 suits are double occupancy and most are with step-out balconies.
The boat is maintained by 120 staff-crew members and has accommodated 73 crew cabins. It consists of 9 decks, out of which 7 are passenger-accessible and only 3 with cabins.
All staterooms built in the vessel are available with modern hotel amenities and offer queen-size double beds, bedside cabinets, a seating area with a 2-seater couch, a glass-top coffee table, a mirrored vanity desk, a dressing table with a chair, an electric or fake fireplace, a wall-mounted smart HDTV, and many more facilities.
Complimentary room service is provided 24X7 while ordering from a separate in-cabin dining menu, which is available for 24 hours, and from the Restaurant’s menu during the regular shipboard dining hours.
