Malawi: The Director General of the National Commission for Science and Technology (NCST), Gift Kadzamira has asked for support for the innovators in the country. He called for collaborative efforts among stakeholders claiming it is critical for uplifting local innovators in the country.
The Director General of the NCST was recently attending a stakeholder meeting at Crossroads Hotel in Lilongwe. The meeting was organized by the stakeholders of the country to discuss and highlight the talents of a young innovator of the country.
During the event, Gift Kadzamira discussed the innovation project of Ernest Andrew. The innovator is a Form 2 dropout who is generating electricity using air and locally made tools.
The organization has been very proud to see the innovation. Some stakeholders of the NCST shared the details of the youngster’s progress.
Ernest Andrew has already connected seven houses with electricity at Chinguwo village in the area of Traditional Authority Chiwere in the Dowa district. The meeting aimed at gathering input from stakeholders who are supporting Ernest Andrew in advancing his project.
They acknowledged that the project is currently benefiting his community, noting that the officials.
Kadzamira stressed the importance of having a coordinated approach from all stakeholders. They shared that it was important to ensure that Ernest Andrew received adequate support from various stakeholders across the country.
During the meeting, a task force comprising various stakeholders was formed to facilitate project coordination, and communication and provide support for Ernest’s project.

The people of the country have also extended their appreciation to the organization for supporting the innovation sector. They appreciated the commission, saying “That’s the way to go”.
