Zimbabwe: A woman aged 34 from Gweru was arrested for stabbing her husband’s girlfriend to death. She killed the other lady when she caught the two pants down in her matrimonial bedroom.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirmed the incident that occurred in Gweru’s Mkoba Village 14, on Saturday night, Feb 10, 2024.
As per the sources, the suspect – Stacy Thokozani Mkhandla was away for an all-night church prayer, but she reportedly got off from neighbours telling her that her husband had brought into their house a girlfriend.
Reportedly, a source close to the sad development that has left the Mkoba community shell shocked said that the woman, Thokozani Mkhandla left home around 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, for a church prayer. She left her husband, Tafadzwa Munyoro with their two minors, at home.
The source reported, “Tafadzwa then left the minors alone and returned home at 10:00 p.m. On the same night in the company of her girlfriend, Brightness Nancy Phiri, a neighbour informed the wife about the same.”
The Midlands provincial police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed that, Thokozani Mkhandla returned home suddenly and found the two tangling on couple’s matrimonial bed.
Inspector Mahoko also informed that Mkhandla tried to stab her husband’s girlfriend but he restrained and threw the knife outside the bedroom.
Mkhandla returned home the same Saturday night from a church night payer and found Phiri and her husband, Tafadzwa Emmanuel Munyoro, in the bedroom.
While Tafadzwa was out, Mkhandla took another knife from the kitchen and stabbed Phiri several times in the body.
As per the reports, Phiri managed to escape out of the house naked and jumped out of the precast walls but soon collapsed on the street and died.
Inspector Mahoko told that the police attended the crime scene that led to the arrest of Mkhlandla.
Moreover, Phiri’s body was taken to Gweru Provincial Hospital and the suspect is now in police custody. Whereas, the investigation is till on.
