ZAMBIA: In a shocking incident which has passed shockwaves within the community of Nakonde, lovewel Sichone, head teacher of Nakasangati Primary School in the Nakonde district, has been killed in a hit-and-run accident.
Sichone was on 24th December riding his motorbike from his school to Nakonde town in Zambia when a vehicle hit him from behind on Sunday afternoon. The hit was so devastating and forceful that it not only hit the bike but made him fall on the road and scattered his brain into pieces.
This ruinous scene was seen by passersby, who found his body around 18 hours and immediately alerted the police. His elder brother, Jones Mulambya, has confirmed the death in the hospital.
He had also appealed to the police to investigate the matter and bring the culprit to justice. He has also asked the public to help the police with any information that could aid in unveiling the circumstances surrounding this tragic event and cooperate with the authorities to unfold a case.
The funeral, an event filled with pain and grief, was held in Ntindi near Nakonde Urban Clinic, where family, friend and relatives had paid their last respects to the beloved head teacher.
Nakomde mourns the prominent loss of the head teacher, calls for justice, and requests authorities to unfold the case as soon as possible and put the victims behind bars.
