Traveller and Digital Creator of Barcelona ‘Josep Aguilar’ has released the 39th episode of the famous Solo Africa Overland, created by himself. The recent episode includes his journey within and around the Chizarira National Park and the Hidden Gorges of Zimbabwe.
Episode 39 of Solo Africa Overland was released on Friday, Jan 03, 2025 on Facebook and other available social media platforms. The episode shows the safari journey of the traveller. As he explores around, Aguilar explains the place and passes, the in between encounters with the wild animals and the stunning views.
Describing the latest episode of Solo Africa Overland, Josep Aguilar said that Chizarira is the second park that he found when he was following the southern Lake Kariba route. He added, “On my way to the park I met interesting local people with whom I spent some time, something that I love because it is the best way to know the true culture of a country.”
Getting into the details of his visit he explained further that Chizarira is close to the main road and the scenery which is fantastic. According to him, the place with several gorges can be seen from the top of the mountains.
“But in Matusadona, I was not lucky enough when I tried to find wildlife in the park, or was there any other reason? that is still need to be found,” at Chizarira National Park.
Chizarira National Park is one of the largest national parks of Zimbabwe and home to four of the Big-5 (except Rhino). The conservated area is very remote and visited very less. Here animal densities are very low as a result of frequent poaching.
The main attraction of the national park is undoubtedly enormous wilderness appeal. It is well suited to the adventurous traveler with guided walking safaris as a big part of the experience.
It is situated on top of the great Zambezi escarpment in the north western part of Zimbabwe that overlooks the Zambezi Valley and upper waters of Lake Kariba. It is the fourth largest national park in Zimbabwe after the iconic Hwange, Gonarezhou and Mana Pools National Parks.
Chizarira is located in a large remote area of 2,000 sq. km. of wild. The place is surrounded by untouched flora and fauna which is endowed with magnificent gorges, plateaus and flood plains which make this pristine park a spectacular destination for any visitor.
