Kenya: Kenya Airways (KQ) has signed a codeshare agreement with Air Europa to expand its reach in Europe and the United States of America. The agreement will allow Air Europa passengers to fly from Amsterdam to Nairobi.
The agreement will also allow Kenya Airways guests to fly to Madrid, Palma de Mallorca, New York and Miami. The agreement significantly involves the travel options for customers by providing access and convenience as guests would like to enjoy.
The agreement provides benefits such as a single ticket, single check-in and connections with minimum waiting times, among others.
As per the sources, Kenya Airways will implement the codes on four Air Europa routes. The routes will specifically include travel from:
- Amsterdam to Madrid
- Madrid to Palma de Mallorca
- Madrid to New York
- Miami
The Air Europa will also implement their codes on the Kenya Airways for the flight from Amsterdam to Nairobi.
Reportedly, the agreement reflects the growth of Kenya Airways’ partnership strategy, which was largely restored in 2022.
Moreover, the agreement is supporting Kenya Airways to connect Africa to the World and the World to Africa through Nairobi. Kenya Airways is committed to exploring strategic partnerships and agreements that provide its guests with more convenience, choice and access to destinations across the world.
Head of Network Planning and Alliances of Kenya Airways – Martin Gitonga, expressed that they are excited about this partnership as it will provide the guests with more convenient travel options to Europe and the United States.
He added that the Air Europa has been their partner under the SkyTeam Alliance, and the agreement allows them to collaborate more for the mutual benefit of guests, providing them more access and connectivity.
Director of Alliances of Air Europa – Estelle Leray, also stated that they are pleased with the partnership they have signed with Kenya Airways.
She added that working with one of the most established and prestigious airlines in Africa, the alliance allows them to significantly expand their reach in a region with growing demand, which certainly provides benefits to the customers.
