Kenya: The Chief Conservator of Forests (CCF), Alex Lemarkoko, hosted the management of the Asili Sacco Society at a meeting on Wednesday. The Asili Sacco Society’s management is led by Chairman Evans Kegode. The meeting was hosted to discuss further collaborations between the two organizations.
The Kenya Forest Service is working diligently to protect and promote the saving culture in the country. The two organizations believe that this initiative can in the long run help them establish income generating ventures.
Further, the people of the country can also acquire assets which can help them in their personal development. The two organizations share a remarkable bond with one another where Asili Sacco has supported the members of kenya Forest Service.
Chief Conservator of Forests (CCF) Alex Lemarkoko delivered brief address at the event. He thanked the Asili Sacco Society for their constant support for the Kenya Forest Service.
According to the CCF, KFS staff have always had an understanding partner in Asili especially in times of financial hardships and emergencies. The organization has extended their support to KFS in organizing other staff extra-curricular programmes including sports.
They are also active in the tree growing activities of the country. Further CCF Lemarkoko pledged to continue working with the Asili Sacco in future.
He spoke of collaboration in the areas of capacity building of staff on sound financial management so that they can develop themselves.
Kegode who was accompanying the CEO of the society CEO Grace Alnyo. Together, the two officials thanked KFS through the CCF for their support through timely remission of members’ contributions. They also acknowledged that the KFS Us the top organisation in terms of membership.
He noted that Sacco which was established by staff from the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources back in 1972. The organization has had a long and enduring history with staff from the forestry sector.
The Chairman noted that the organization will continue to work towards strengthening it for the benefit of the members. Other members of the delegation led by Asili Sacco Society chairperson included:
