KwaZulu Natal teachers won National Teaching Awards 2023

The Teachers of KwaZulu Natal won the National Teaching Awards, which were also celebrated according to the categories that they won.

KwaZulu Natal: The Teachers of KwaZulu Natal won the National Teaching Awards, which were also celebrated according to the categories that they won. 

KZN dept of education said, “Our learners would not be where they are today if it wasn’t for the dedication and hard work of the teachers.”

They were honoured under the following categories:

  • Ms Xolile Mazibuko from Sipheni Senior Primary, Amajuba, won Excellence in Natural Science Teaching.
  • Ms Nqobile Mlaba from Umthoqotho High School, uMgungundlovu District, won Excellence in Physical Science Teaching – FET and won first Position at the National level. 
  • Mr Usiphatheleni Khanyile from Sibusisiwe CompTech High Street, Umlazi District, won Excellence in Secondary School Teaching 1 and won first Position at the National level. 
  • Mr Samukelo Ntuli from Anton Lembede MST Academy, Pinetown District, won Excellence in Mathematics Teaching – FET and first Position at the National level. 
  • Ms Philisiwe Khumalo from Sinaye Primary School, King Cetshwayo District, won Excellence in Grade R Teaching. 
  • Mr Brended Marnce from Kokstad Primary School Harry Gwala District won the Kadar Asmal Lifetime Achievement Award. 
  • Ms Nomfundo Myeni from Siphosethu Special School, Zululand District, won Excellence in Special Needs Education. 
  • Mr Vikani Msimanga from Phendukani Full Service High School, Amajuba District, won Excellence in Secondary School Leadership and won the first Position at the National level. 
  • Ms Gugu Qwabe from Mandla Mthethwa School of Excellence, Umkhanyakude District, won the National Best Teacher Award and won First Position at the National level. 
  • Ms Zinhle Sithole from Ohlange Primary School, King Cetshwayo District, won Excellence in Mathematics Teaching-Get
  • Ms Anna-Mary Nene from Masibumbane Special School, King Cetshwayo District, won Excellence in Special Needs Leadership
  • Ms Sinenhlanhla Hlongwane from Shonkweni Primary School, Ugu District won Excellence in Primary School Teaching and won first Position at the National level. 
  • Mr Simphiwe Thabethe from Ntulabakayise Secondary School, Umkhanyakude District, won Excellence in Technology Enhanced Teaching and Learning
  • Ms Fiona Tooray from. Battlefields Primary School, UMzinyathi District, won Excellence in Primary School Leadership and won First Position at the National level.
