South Africa: The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Education has taken the charge of a National School Nutrition Programme [NSNP]. The officials of the department of Education are currently doing a Briefing Session Road Trip to all 12 Districts.
Currently the department officials are in Kuswag High School in uMlazi District. The district officials and school Authorities have both extended a warm welcome to the department of education.
The two sets of officials discussed the best way forward to promote the National School Nutrition programme. The students will be given access to a variety of nutritive items which they can not find their daily meals especially in financially vulnerable homes.
The programme seeks to enhance the productive capacity of the students by giving them a routine that they can rely on.Through this feeding programme, the department wants to reach all the communities in the Province of KwaZulu-Natal.
The burden of the vulnerable families will also be eased with the help of this programme. The KwaZulu Natal Department of Education has promised that the members of the community will be supported for
This economic empowerment initiative programme is being led by the government of KwaZulu Natal. The initiative, according to the administration, is two fold. Small Business Enterprises will get an opportunity to participate in the economy and poverty alleviation work can also be achieved in the communities.
The NSNP was established with the aim to provide nutrition to learners studying on empty stomachs. The initiative was also dedicated to promoting small businesses by encouraging their participation.
The department has invited local small business to participate and profit from the initiative just as the programme alleviates burdens of the economically vulnerable households.
The purpose of rolling out these Briefing Sessions is to make sure that the beneficiaries of the project are coming from local suppliers. The officials have shared that they are dedicted to make sure more and more people can benefit from government initiatives.
The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Education said that their mission is to decentralize the NSNP. This will help prevent monopoly of this programme by medium size enterprises, who would want to supply in multiple Districts.
