Botswana: The Ministry of Youth and Gender Affairs, under the leadership of President Duma Boko welcomed their new Minister Lesego Chombo. The appointment of the reigning Miss World Africa as the Minister of Youth and Gender Affairs was welcomed with great enthusiasm.
The appointment of the 24 year old was made earlier in the week. On the first day of Lesego Chombo as one of the youngest ministers in the administration of Duma Boko, her team gave her a warm welcome.
The young leader of the Ministry of Youth and Gender Affairs shared that she was happy to start working with the team at the ministry and work towards a better, more peaceful nation.
On her first day at the Ministry, Lesego Chombo shared several images and repeated her promise to serve the nation. She introduced herself to the team and shared her vision for the future of the nation and her five-year tenure.
The minister expressed she was excited to start her work in the Ministry. She promised that they would and bring a new energy to the Ministry. She also talked about the importance of youth empowerment in Botswana.
She said that she would make sure that the voices of all the people is heard all over the country
The minister said that she wants to learn from everyone within the team. She promised the officers that she was looking forward to learning from the experiences of her team.
She reflected that it was important for everyone to look at things from a different perspective. She also urged her team to find common ground in the event of a disagreement.
The minister asked the members of the team to be indulgent, patient and supportive as she settled in her new role. She took the opportunity to highlight that she is eager to dive into her new responsibilities.
The people of Botswana extended their best wishes to the 24 years old as she took charge of the Ministry. She promised to serve Botswana to the best of her capacity
