Malawi: Lilongwe Water Board (LWB) has commissioned a new service center in Area 23 in Lilongwe. The commissioning event was hosted on Wednesday, to allow the organization serve the people of Malawi better.

After the service centre becomes operational, the people can access a number of facilities more easily. They will be able to pay their water bills and access other services in a more relaxed manner.

The customers from Area 23 and other areas in Traditional Authority Tsabango are delighted with the new development. They have hailed the authorities of the LWB for keeping the needs of their customers in mind.

The Minister of Water and Sanitation, Abida Mia was present at the commissioning of the service center. She appreciated the Lilongwe Water Board for their commitment to the welfare of people.

She claimed that she was extremely happy with the work the board was doing.

She was delighted to note that LWB is doing an outstanding job in promoting access to  potable water in Lilongwe. The commissioning of the service centre aligns with the Ministry’s efforts to ensuring people have access to potable water services.

Senior Chief Chiuzira attended the commissioning event as a representative of the Traditional Authorities Tsabango. He was excited for the commissioning of the service centre in his area.

He claimed that the center will address challenges which people were experiencing to access water services. He also recollected the issues that the people of the community had been facing  in the past.

According to his report, they had to walk long distances to pay the water bill and get access to the other facilities. Accordingly, they are excited to see the new service center being commissioned.

LWB Board Chairperson, Inkosi Mmbelwa IV, reiterated their commitment to  serving their customers and making them happy. He claimed that the organization wants to achieve customer satisfaction which is why they brought their services closer to them.

The organization also donated a one million litre water tank to Bwaila Hospital. Additionally, they donated an e-madzi kiosk at Biwi Triangle Industrial Site in Lilongwe.
