South Africa: Limpopo Health MEC Dr Phophi Ramathuba will be launching the Limpopo Obstetrics and Gynaecology protocols and standards for health professionals at St Maria Polokwane Municipality in the Capricorn District.
The primary aim of the Obstetrics & Gynaecology protocols and standards is to improve the health of our women and their newborns by standardizing the clinical care they receive at our healthcare facilities. Instituting protocols and standards improves patient safety, communication, and quality outcomes.
“We believe that the Obstetrics and Gynaecology protocols and standards will promote good medical decision-making, particularly for trainees, and advanced standardized clinical practice throughout our health care facilities. We really appreciate this workshop as it will improve the health of our women and their newborns and deal with reducing the maternal and neonatal mortality in the poorest communities”, said MEC Ramathuba.
