Limpopo stages provincial sport summer games 2022

South Africa: Following the successful hosting of the District School Sports Summer Games in the month of September, the Limpopo Department of Sport, Arts and Culture, in collaboration with the Department of Basic Education, will stage the Provincial School Sports Summer Games aimed at selecting Team Limpopo.

South Africa: Following the successful hosting of the District School Sports Summer Games in the month of September, the Limpopo Department of Sport, Arts and Culture, in collaboration with the Department of Basic Education, will stage the Provincial School Sports Summer Games aimed at selecting Team Limpopo.

The selected team will compete with fellow counterparts from all eight provinces during the National Championships scheduled to take place in Gauteng province in December.

The School Sports Summer Games remains the bedrock of sport development in the country, as it identifies natural talent from the school level in the prioritised summer sporting codes, including Basketball, Cricket, Gymnastics, Goalball, Rugby(7’s), Softball, Table Tennis, Kgati, Morabaraba.

The Learners with Special Education Needs (LSEN) will compete in Basketball, Gymnastics, Goalball and Table Tennis. The school sports leagues in public schools were re-introduced to ensure that all learners are provided with an opportunity to participate in schools sports activities, thus creating a platform for talent identification.
