Kenya: The Chief Conservator of Forests (CCF) in the Kenya Forest Service Alex Lemarkoko received football kits for the Kenya Forest Service (KFS) team. The uniforms were donated by Madison Insurance Company which he received in his office.

The handover of the uniforms was hosted at the KFS headquarters in Karura on Monday. The Chief Conservator of Forests (CCF) thanked Madison Insurance for their generosity.

He also highlighted that they were long time conservation partners who had supported a number of activities in the Service. The members of the donating organization were delighted to assist the members of the Kenya Forest service.

The representatives of the tow organizations spoke to each other on the crucial support and partnership that the two organizations enjoy. The leadership of the Kenya Forest Service took the opportunity to interact with the insurance company representative.

The team of senior officers from the insurance company were led by the Operations Manager, Mercy Kago. During the meeting, the CCF informed them that the Service will soon establish an inter-conservancy tournament.

The tournament in question will include a number of sports to promote staff interaction and good physical health. Operations Manager Kago thanked the CCF for the continuous collaboration that the two organizations enjoy.

She also noted that it was important for the staff to also be sensitised on financial wellness to inculcate a saving culture. She added that her organisation was ready to support the Service in her quest to increase the country’s tree cover as well as providing insurance and financial training to staff.

Further, during the meeting, they agreed that the two organisations would formulate a memorandum of understanding. The MoU will guide their future collaboration in the areas of tree growing, sports support and financial wellness training.

Other officers present during the event were the Principal Deputy Chief Conservator of Forests Charity Munyasia, the Commandant Mohamed A Mohamed as well as Japheth Nyagarama, Rosslyn Wasike and Nancy Gitau from Madison Insurance Company among other KFS officers.
