Malawi: Netball Association of Malawi (NAM) says that they are highly positive regarding the upcoming African Cup Championship. The Malawi queens are ready to fac the rest of the continent in one of the biggest netball events of the year.
Thee organization has confirmed that they are impressed with the preparations of Malawi Queens. They have made several efforts to get themselves ready for the African Netball Championship Cup. The competition is scheduled to take place from 9th to 14th December in Swakopmund, Namibia.
The Netball Association of Malawi Secretary, Yamikani Khungwa Kauma has shard the details about the team and logistics. She announced that out of 26 players, 15 have been nominated for the final squad.
She has also confirmed that the team played two friendlies as part of testing their fitness and composure.
“We believe that the selected players will battle and deliver to the nation. We have seen more improvement through the friendlies which we played earlier. We hope that the girls are ready to perform,” she said.
Yamikani Khungwa Kauma hailed the government through the Malawi Sports Council. She applauded them for supporting the NAM with resources for smooth preparations in the local camping.
The camps include accommodation and air tickets for the players. The event was attended by several nations. The African Cup Championship will be an event for the masses, with the nations like Malawi, Uganda, South Africa.
The other teams who are part of this lineup include Zimbabwe, Namibia, Lesotho, Kenya, Eswatin, and Tanzania. The 2024 edition of the Netball African Cup Championship is being anticipated by the fans of the sport over the conntinent
