KwaZulu Natal (Mawothi): A man of Mawothi KZN accused of raping a three (3) year old child was arrested by the South Africa Police last night (Tuesday).
This incident occurred after the child’s family contacted Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) requesting assistance. Reaction Officers were immediately dispatched and arrived at the suspect’s residence at approximately 10:49 in the evening.
As per the reports and family views, it was alleged that the suspect kidnapped the minor child from her yard and raped her in a nearby bush.
Her family launched a search immediately after they realised she was missing. They located her naked in the dense vegetation. The suspect fled when he noticed the search party approaching. They pursued him to his home, where he locked himself inside. The community threatened to burn the house with the suspect’s mother & brother inside.
The accused was placed under arrest and handed over to the South Africa Police Service in Mawothi headquarters.
Rape cases are also increasing in the country; a few days back, the Durban Central Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS) detectives are appealing to community members for assistance in locating a foreign national known as Esker Williams.
Police believe that Williams can be of assistance in solving a rape case which was committed on 21 October 2023. It is alleged that on that day, a 14-year-old girl was lured to an apartment in Umhlanga Rocks, where a man allegedly forced himself on her.

As per the reports, the same man tried to rape a 5-year-old girl, and the way of both attempts was the same, but the family of 5 years old victim withdrew the case from the police station.
