Cameroon: The player of the national football team of Cameroon, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, is about to be signed by Manchester United soon.
Currently, the 34-year-old Choupo Moting is playing for Bayern Munich as a striker and his contract will expire next summer in June 2024.
As per football transfer expert – Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United is currently discussing signing Choupo Moting in the winter transfer window as the club needs more attacking options.
Romano explained that Bayern Munich striker Eric Choupo Moting is one of the many names who were discussed internally. “It’s nothing concrete, nothing advanced yet,” said football transfer expert Romano.
He added that Bayern Munich still have players such as Harry Kane and Mathys Tel as options to play up front. So, it is obvious that there’s not much space for Choupo-Moting and Manchester United is aware of the situation.
“At the moment, it’s not a negotiation, from what I’m told, but it may become one to watch,” stated Fabrizio Romano.
According to the statement by Romano, there has not been an offer from Manchester United, but that could change, a summer move to Saudi Arabia is also an option for Bayern.
Reportedly, Manchester United is in need of more goal production from their front line and has shortlisted attacking players to sign in January.
The list of players released by Manchester United includes:
- Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting from Bayern Munich
- Thomas Muller from Bayern Munich
- Timo Werner from RB Leipzig
- Sehou Guirassy from Stuttgart
As per the sources, Manchester United is restricted by a lack of funds due to the club and has to wait for funding to be signed off from new investor Sir Jim Radcliffe and Ineos group.
Manchester United were also linked with Werner in the summer. There also interested in Guirassy from Bayern Munich. Moreover, Bayern Munich’s Choupo-Moting and Muller will be considered as affordable short-term options.
