MAZABUKA District Commissioner Oliver Mulomba has expressed satisfaction with the Zambia Sugar funded – rehabilitation works at Nakambala Urban Clinic.
Works at the Nakambala Urban Clinic, have reached an advanced stage, with the scope including renovation of toilets, replacing damaged windows, painting, as well as installation of air-conditioners.
The rehabilitation works that will gobble slightly over K1,000,000 have carted for the Labour Ward, Outpatient Department, Maternal Child Health Wing, Environmental Health Department, as well as the Antiretroviral Therapy (ART) section.
Other areas to be worked on at the facility include the Screening room, Security Posts, Waste Management and the Registry.
Mulomba has since expressed gratitude to Zambia Sugar for complementing the government’s efforts in ensuring the efficient provision of health care to citizens.
He says the government is happy with the manner the works are coming out, adding that the new face of the Clinic will motivate health workers to provide good services to patients in a conducive environment.
In a similar standing, Nakambala Urban Clinic Committee Chairperson Justin Musinyani has thanked Zambia Sugar for enhancing the face of the facility.
Earlier, Zambia Sugar Corporate Affairs Director Eugene Chungu, noted that the institution saw it fit to work on the Clinic as it currently caters for approximately 600 patients a day.
He further noted that the facility has a fully fledged Antiretroviral Therapy department that attends to over 30 patients every day, with other 3,000 patients.
Moreover, Zambia Sugar management has disclosed plans to sponsor Nakambala Leopards again. Zambia Sugar Head of Corporate Affairs Eugene Chungu, exclusively tells Byta FM Sports that the company will next month start bank-rolling Nakambala Leopards.
He explains that the Sugar giant has formed a sports Academy dubbed Nakambala Sports Academy, where all sports activities, including football, will be funded.
And Chungu has disclosed that FAZ Eden University National League outfit F.C MUZA has been allowed to use Nakambala Stadium as their home ground.
He, however, says that the company will continue regulating COVID-19 guidelines during the games.
Meanwhile, F.C MUZA General Secretary Joel Kabika has also confirmed the development of being allowed to use Nakambala Stadium.
