Men In Blue conquers India v/s Zimbabwe T20I series

India v/s Zimbabwe T20I series observed its final match on July 14, 2024. India sealed the series on Sunday, under the captaincy of Shubman Gill and defeated Zimbabwe by 42 runs in the 5th T20I match.

The Chevrons team under Sikandar Raza’s leadership won the first match but were not able to manage to win any other match.

India scored 167/6 runs and Zimbabwe scored 125 runs. All the five matches were played at the Harare Sports Club. Player of the Series was Washington Sundar and Shivam Dube was considered as Player of the Match. Out of five matches 4 were won by India and Zimbabwe won one match.

Mukesh Kumar registered his career-best T20I, figuring 4 for 22 as Zimbabwe was bundled out for 125 in 18.3 overs. It was, Sanju Samson’s gritty half-century that helped India to achieve total of 167 for 6 in 20 overs after he was invited to bat first. Samson scored 58 runs off 45 balls.

Zimbabwe’s Blessing Muzarabani was pick of the bowlers by returning figures of 2 for 19 in the quota of four overs.

Sanju Samson and Riyan Parag held the innings and had a 65-run partnership. The Men In Blue Team scored 30 runs off the last 2 overs and reached the aimed score in 20 overs.

Before Samson and Parag, Yashasvi Jaiswal got out after getting a record- breaking start, with India getting 13 off 1 ball. Shubhman Gill on 13 and Abhishek Sharma on 14 were out soon making 40/3 in 5 overs.

Replying to it, Zimbabwe lost the 1st wicket in the 3rd ball of the innings, when Mukesh Kumar hit it early, and lost another wicket soon at 15/2 in the 3rd over.

The Men In Blue Team of India consisted of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Subhman Gill, Abhishek Sharma, Riyan Parag, Sanju Samson, Rinku Singh, Shivam Dube, Washington Sundar, ravi Bishnoi, Tushar Deshpande and Mukesh Kumar.

The Chevrons of Zimbabwe consisted of Wessly Madhevere, Tadiwanashe Marumani, Brian Bennett, Dion Myers, Sikander Raza(c), Johnathan Campbell, Faraz Akram, Clive Madande(w), Richard Ngarava, Blessing Muzarabani and Brandon Mavuta.
