Malawi: The Ministry of education has applauded the ‘Let’s build Malawi’ organization for constructing school blocks. The blocks will be given to Nsokamkanasi Community Day Secondary School (CDSS) in area 43 of Lilongwe District.
The officials have shared that the new structures will reduce the problem of shortage of space and ensure quality education for learners. The Principal secretary (PS) for Basic and Secondary Education in the ministry of education Rachael Chimbwete Phiri said the construction of the school is very important to ensure there is enough learning spaces for students to reduce congestion.
The Principal secretary noted that the Nsokamkanasi Community Day Secondary School has faced tremendous challenges such as congestion, disturbance from the surrounding areas, shortage of desks and blocks when it was operating at Phuka Primary School in area 10, hence construction of the new school blocks has resolved all the challenges faced before.
“The newly built school has quality furniture with eight classrooms which is going to create additional space for students when it comes to studies.
“We thank Let’s Build for the construction of the blocks in area 43 and others in the country;” she said.
The Principal Secretary has advised the students to refrain from vandalism and maintain the newly built school for their benefit.
Country Representative of ‘Let’s Build Malawi organization,’ Ruth Kawale said the organization intends to build various school blocks in different parts of the country in order to ensure quality schools and increase children and youth enrolment in secondary schools.
“We are also constructing classroom blocks in different schools in other countries in order to fill the gap and promote quality education.
“So far about 48 classroom blocks have been constructed across in Malawi and we can assure government and Malawians that our organisation will continue to build school blocks in different areas especially rural areas;” Kawale said.
Head teacher for the newly built school commended government and Let’s Build for the construction of the school as it will boost the performance of the students and ensure they have access to all the required resources for both teaching and learning.
