Botswana: The Minister for State President, the Moeti Mohwasa has met with the Police Senior Management team. This was the first time that the Minster had met the Botswana officers after his appointment as the minister.
The Minister of State President has shared that Botswana Police Service (BPS) helped tremendously in ensuring free and fair elections. He has also thanked the officers for their effort in ensuring the safety and security of the citizenry.
The Minister has said that the new government is aware of officers’ conditions of service and are committed to improving them. Minister Moeti Mohwasa has promised to provide the organization with the resources that they need.
These resources will help the police service in delivering on their promises. The Minister for State President said that the police officers should try to embrace new technology.
This will also help them in fighting issues like stock theft and also increase detection of criminal offences in the community.
The commissioner of police, Dinah Marathe welcomed the Minster warmly. The police service has taken to her social media to share some of the glimpses from the organization’s meeting.
The officials have shared their best wishes to the new government of Republic of Botswana.
The Commissioner of Police, Commissioner Dinah Marathe congratulated the Minister on his new appointment in the Duma Boko adminstration. She has also assured the leader that the BPS pledges its support to the Minister’s vision.
The Botswana Police is working hard towards creating a safe and secure environment necessary for peace building, unity and economic growth.
Commissioner has spoken to the Minister of Housing and indicated that shortage of staff accommodation, transportation and limited budget are some of the challenges that BPS is confronted with, thus compromising service delivery and staff morale
Deputy Commissioner, Crime Investigations, Busang Lesola thanked the Minister for his visit. He also assured the Minister that BPS will not disappoint him and but continue to serve the nation as the. best performing police service, locally and internationally.
He also added BPS commits to put human rights at the forefront of its service delivery agenda.
