Botswana: The President of Botswana, Mokgweetsi Masisi has appreciated the Pusha BW Selebi Phikwe expo for highlighting the local producers and manufacturers. Through the expo, the top producers and manufacturers were able to promote their products and secure new markets.
The event was attended by several government officials and members of the administration. The officials aimed to encourage the people to buy locally produced products and boost local businesses.
The buying and selling of locally produced products can help in the development and growth of the country’s economy. As per the officials, the Expo hosted in Selebi Phikwe was a great success.
The President of the country has shared glimpses of the event on his official social media account. He also reflected on the successful execution of the event, sharing that the expo attracted 60 exhibitors.
Over half of the businesses which exhibited at the Pusha BW Expo were enterprises based in Selebi Phikwe. The officials who attended the business promotion expo were delighted to see the growth of the Selebi Phikwe based enterprises.
The President also delivered a brief address at the event to encourage more business-oriented growth in the region. He was accompanied by other government officials, including Acting Minister of Entrepreneurship Molebatsi Molebatsi.
President Masisi said the SPEDU area has the potential to produce big industries for the country. The new industries could, in turn, alleviate unemployment and poverty. Creating new businesses can also create better opportunities in the Agribusiness, Manufacturing, Tourism and Services sectors.
The expo was hosted alongside the official launch of the First Harvest in Selebi Phikwe. The people of the town are delighted with the developments in the region. Meanwhile, President Mokgweetsi Masisi said that the official launch of the “First Harvest” represents the Government’s commitment towards achieving export-led growth.
According to the head of the state, the increase in the country’s export capacity is a key factor in the attainment of Vision 2036. The people of Botswana appreciated the President and his administration for working towards the country’s success.
The development of the manufacturing and service sectors will uplift the country’s economy and bring the administration closer to achieving its development goals.
