Botswana: Ministry of Youth, Gender, Sport and Culture (MYSC) held a restructuring engagement at the Botswana National Youth Council (BNYC) in Gaborone. The engagement was hosted on Thursday, with the members of the youth council in attendance.

The Ministry shared some glimpses from the event on their social media. The event was attended by the Leadership, Management and District Coordinators in the Ministry.

The leadership of the organization took the opportunity to discuss the different departmental functions and structures. The aim of the leadership and management to see through the effective delivery of the MYSC mandate.

The event was hosted with the aim of getting the attendants to make their own contributions on how they can achieve the various goals of the Ministry. The Ministry has been working on improving various aspects of the nation.

The departments working within the ministry have been working hard to encourage more youth participation in various aspects of the country. The organization has further noted that they are trying to introduce critical developments in the Arts, Gender Affairs, Culture and Sports.

Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Youth, Gender, Sport and Culture, Bridget Poppy John, delivered a brief address at the event. The consultation engagement is being hosted over the course of two days.

When she was addressing the attendees, the Permanent Secretary called on the participants to take the exercise seriously. She highlighted that the initiative calls for serious deliberations.

She also asked the attending members of the management and leadership to contribute freely to the meeting. They must make their suggestions with the view of making an impact in the way MYSC is to deliver its services to its constituents.

The two-day engagement is aimed at optimizing resources, reducing cost and improving service delivery across all MYSC departments and units. The people of Botswana have shared their approval of the Ministry’s initiative.

The social media  users confirmed that such engagements should be hosted periodically to ensure that all the departments of the Ministry are running smoothly.
