Botswana: Okavango Diamond Company are the main sponsor for the Botswana International Dancesport Grandprix Championship 2024. Botswana Dancesport Association unveiled its main sponsor in a significant event on Sunday.
The unveiling of the main sponsor was also an anticipated event for the dancesports association. The event was hosted on Sunday with the members of the Botswana Dancesport Association in attendance.
The Botswana International Dancesport Grandprix Championship will be held on the 1-2 March 2024 in Gaborone. The University of Botswana Indoor Sports Arena will serve as the venue for the event.
The Executive Marketing officer of Botswana Dancesport Association, Tiro Ntwayagae delivered the welcome remarks. Ntwayagae indicated that Dancesport is a direct beneficiary of Diamonds produced in Botswana.
He added that they are honoured to have Okavango Diamond Company as the main sponsor for this International Dancesport Grandprix.
“The initiative indeed shows their commitment to elegance and quality perfectly aligns with the sophistication and precision that defines dancesport” said the 1st Vice President Administration who is also the Acting President of the association, in his sponsorship appreciation speech.
Meanwhile, Okavango Diamond Company Managing Director Mmetla Masire indicated their commitment to sponsor sports, arts and culture activities. He also talked about their aim to uplift the National Sports Association, which is striving to reach excellence.
The organization’s pledge showed their dedication to the growth of their athletes in their association.
The BODANSA, on the 19th of January 2024, signed the Memorandum of Understanding with the Botswana Council for the Disabled to officially launch the Persons Living with Disability programme, which will be a programme that will facilitate the teaching and competing of people living with disabilities in the Dancesport sphere
Okavango Diamond Company has sponsored the Botswana International Dancesport Grandprix Championship 2024 at a sum of P136,000.00 and this competition is set to host athletes from South Africa, Lesotho, Eswatini, Mozambique, Namibia, Russia and Italy.
