KwaZulu Natal (Metcalf): Ramiah Drive in Metcalf – Kwazulu Natal faced a business robbery on Thursday afternoon. During the robbery on duty, a policeman was robbed of his state-issued Z88 pistol and state cellphone.
South African Police Services (SAPS) in Tongaat – KwaZulu Natal contacted Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) in order to track the robbers. As per reports, there were 11 suspects, of which two fled through white Ford Ranger bakkies.
The RUSA R44 Helicopter is currently (14:41) conducting a search. Reports also indicated that the suspects were wearing uniforms like SAPS officers. Two of the robbers were women.
They entered a car sale in the Tongaat – KZN area under the pretext of serving a warrant. An employee from the business contacted Tongaat SAPS requesting assistance to verify if the warrant was legitimate.
Then, the SAPS official from Tongaat responded to the call of a businessman, and on the arrival of officers, they robbed his pistol, and that warrant was also duplicated. Immediately, the officer launched firearms.
Moreover, they also stole an undisclosed amount of cash from the business before they sped off in their getaway vehicles. The suspects did not take the Police Vehicle.
As per the SAPS officer, no injuries occurred during this robbery. Moreover, there is the same incident that occurred in the Western Cape and also in the Eastern Cape. Special Task Force has footage and photos of about 20 to 30 bogus cops wandering our streets, and every one of them was run through SAPS Databases throughout South Africa. No Matches have been found so far. As for the Uniforms these thugs are getting, STF got a suspect in Custody from the South Africa Police Service PS distribution department.
On Wednesday, the South Africa Police Station was robbed in Verulam. One of the residents said South Africa is just like movies, as police and their stations are not even safe. How could you expect that residnets will be safe here.”
