Panasonic Corporation (OTCMKTS: PCRFY) has introduced new software for its Panasonic Logiscend System. The Panasonic Logiscend System is a turnkey material flow solution for discrete and complex manufacturing. In the announcement made on August 10 in Rochester, New York, the company unveiled the new software, Logiscend Software 3.0, which will be made available during the fourth quarter of 2021.

Features of Logiscend Software 3.0

Logiscend Software 3.0 integrates Bluetooth Low Energy Tags (BLE) and locators to deliver an improved Real-Time Location System (RTLS). Users of the system can now track and find any part with a high accuracy degree. Panasonic VIEW tags can be combined with BLE tags and locators to eliminate paper documentation and give manufacturers real-time instructions.

According to George Daddis, the Vice President of Panasonic PIDSA-IIoTS, the integration of the Logiscend platform with the BLE technology shows their interest in adding different IoT technologies to the Logiscend platform to meet the needs of specific manufacturers.

Daddis also says that the BLE technology improves the Logiscend platform’s ability to perfect manufacturing operations. It does this by reducing defects and improving the visibility of critical processes.
The new software also has enhanced pick and replenishment applications. It has added features such as a button that shows where a part should be placed for a replenishment order. It also requires a password to cancel jobs and API calls to replace replenishment tags.

Tools for data segmentation management have been added to the Logiscend system. These tools enable the administrators to control who has access to specific data. This means that they can decide which individuals or departments have the credentials to access or edit data.

PIDSA-IIoTS is tasked with designing and manufacturing the Parasonic Logiscend System. It aims to replace the paper-based material flow processes with digital solutions. A combination of wireless RIFD, software and e-paper enable manufacturers to get the necessary parts to the right place when utilised. Logiscend software allows the plant manager to have real-time visibility of processes in the factory flow and make changes when needed.
