Malawi: Plan Malawi has donated a motorcycle to Mulanje Police Station to address transport challenges. The donation of the motorcycles will help the law enforcers respond to cases of child rights violation more quickly.
Plan Malawi Programmes Area Manager, Jane Mweziwina was made aware about the problems that the law enforcement officers are facing. The officials have shared that the law enforcement team will be able to make sure that they report to reports quicker.
The officials have shared that the donation was done after the organization that they did not have any transport facilities. The Plan Malawi has shared that the they wanted to help the Police Officers deal with transport challenges when handling child-related cases.
Plan Malawi representative has shared that the organization realised the importance of partnering with the police. They can help the officers improve their the fight against child abuse.
The motorcycle which the organization has donated will enable the police to respond to emergency situations. The officials have shared that the members of the community will be safer as the Police respond to their calls for help in a quicker fashion.
The officials have shared that the people will also be positively affected by the donation from the organization.
Mulanje Police Officer-in-Charge, Moses Chibwe has expressed gratitude to the donation partners. He said that Plan Malawi’s donation has come at a time when there is dire need to respond to child issues in far to reach areas.
Some regions in the country have been difficult to reach, which makes crime a pressing issue for the authorities. This donation will enhance the mobility of the police officers, especially in areas that are not accessible by vehicles.
It will help police sensitise communities on child protection and respond swiftly to incidents of abuse. The organization is dedicated to make sure children are safe and secure.
