Dominica: United Airlines is starting direct flights service from Newark International Airport of New Jersey to Dominica’s Douglas Charles Airport. The Prime Minister of Dominica, Roosevelt Skerrit made the announcement on Monday during a press conference.
The Prime Minister was proud of the new development within the air roster of the country. With the addition of the United Airlines Direct Flights to the Airlift capacity of the nation, the tourism sector of the nation will get significant boost.
The Prime Minister of Dominica highlighted in his press conference that he believes this development will b a milestone for the country’s growth, both in terms of tourism and economic growth.
The flights will commence from February 15 and will run every week. PM Skerrit highlighted that the new agreement with the United Airlines is a huge step forward’. It is also a proof of the fact that the world is showing more and more confidence in the Commonwealth of Dominica.
The announcement for the new development in terms of the travel and tourism in the country has been greeted with enthusiasm from stakeholders across the nation. PM Roosevelt Skerrit announced that the new development will help the locals of the nation especially people in the hospitality and hotel sector.
The new flights are expected to bring an influx of travellers from all over the world. PM Skerrit then highlighted that the hotels, restaurants, tour guides, village shops, farmers, small business owners will see the changes that come with the new development.
PM Skerrit said, “The more people we have, the more consumption of goods and services. More consumption of goods and services means that there is more money in people’s pockets.”
Previously, Minister of Tourism, Denise Charles Pemberton made the announcement during the previous week. She has also been very excited for the new development in the nation.
The Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit highlighted that the Douglas Charles Airport recently underwent expansions of he runways. PM Skerrit said, “It took him some time to eventually approve of the funds.”
