St. Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew bid farewell to Ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan) to the Federation – Michael Lin. He extended his gratitude to the outgoing Ambassador.
Ambassador Lin served in the federation for more than seven and a half years with distinction, representing his nation across different administrations while deepening the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
Ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan) to the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis – Lin served his role with a rare blend of diligence, diplomacy and humanity. Drew said that he was consistently present, punctual, prepared, and committed to the duties of his office.
PM Drew stated that Lin’s leadership inspired excellence within the team he led, and his professionalism earned him the respect of all who had the privilege of working with him. He was a competent and skilled diplomat who truly understood the essence of diplomacy.
Lin built a strong and enduring relationship that St. Kitts and Nevis federation enjoyed with Taiwan. It is in no small part due to Ambassador Lin’s unwavering dedication and thoughtful engagement. He respected the sovereign partnership between the nations and worked tirelessly to nurture and elevate it.
Prime Minister Terrance Drew noted that Ambassador Lin was trustworthy. Every agreement made under his tenure was honored fully, which exceeded their expectations. This consistency and reliability strengthened the mutual confidence between the governments and helped to solidify a foundation of lasting cooperation.
Ambassador Lin saw tangible progress during his tenure in several areas of national development, including healthcare, water security, agriculture, education, and diplomacy. Projects led by him such as the new hospital, the desalination plant, and various health and capacity-building initiatives bear the clear imprint of his advocacy and support.
PM Drew appreciated him and said that Lin was simply a good and decent human being, beyond his professional accomplishments. His humility, kindness and genuine concern for people endeared him to all. This was more than anything else, which was the secret to his success.
Ambassador Lin returned home to Taiwan, that extended the heartfelt appreciation and wished him continued success in his future endeavors. Dr. Drew emphasized that his legacy would live on in the projects he helped to make possible and in the enduring friendship he helped to cultivate between the residents of St. Kitts and Nevis.
