St Kitts and Nevis: The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew recently launched the ASPIRE programme for youngsters. The development of the youth of the nation has remained a priority for the Prime Minister and his team.

The launch for Achieving Success through Personal Investment, Resources, and Education (ASPIRE) was hosted at the Warner Park on Saturday. The launch event was attended by hundreds of people as it was hosted as a part of a Independence Day Youth Rally.

The government of St Kitts and Nevis, led by Dr Terrance Drew has come up with this unique programme for the betterment and welfare of the young generation of the country. The aim of the programme is to work towards eliminating poverty and inequality.

At the same time, the government also wants to provide the children with the tools they need to thrive. The Prime Minister, Dr Terrance Drew shared the glimpses from the launch event on his official social media.

The members of the community are happy with the programme and the administration’s efforts to uplift the youngsters of the nation. Under the ASPIRE Programme, children aged between 5 to 18 will get EC$1000 as a contribution from the government.

The “contribution” will be given to the children in two parts. The first half of the EC $1000 contribution, EC $500 will be deposited in a savings account at St Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla National Bank.

On the other hand, the rest of the amount will be invested in shares of local, government-owned entities. At the same time, the government has announced their plan to impart financial wisdom to the youngsters of St Kitts and Nevis.

The month of September 2024 is extremely special for the labour government, not only because they are celebrating the nation’s 41st Independence Day Anniversary, but because the Achieving Success through Personal Investment, Resources, and Education. (ASPIRE) programme was launched in the month.

The Prime Minister is delighted to note that the money belongs to the youngsters and their parents. Talking about the significant project, children will learn how to manage finances properly. This knowledge will be given to them in schools and will help them in thriving further in their future.
