Zambia: Police Commanding Officer of the Northern Province Lucky Munkhondya applauded people for maintaining traffic rules during Christmas celebrations. The Northern province did not record any road traffic accidents or unfortunate incidents in the region on Christmas.
The authorities have expressed their delight in the lack of incident and appreciated the people for their cooperation. The authorities have claimed that the reason for this positive outcome is people’s adherence to road traffic rules.
The festive season is marked by celebrations and events being held in various communities. The people are known to celebrate the festivals in multiple ways, including partying with alcohol. Many times, the celebration can get out of hand, resulting in the rise of unfortunate circumstances or incidents.
However, as per the police officers of the Northern Province, the 2023 Christmas concluded peacefully and without incident. The people of the Northern province and the administration of the country both deserve credit for this.
The Police Commanding officer said that the cooperation and support of the people was significant in a peaceful Christmas.
According to her, said that the traffic police officers in the province had intensified both foot and motorized operations during the period leading to Christmas.
Northern Province Police Commanding Officer Munkhondya said the police command managed to conduct these patrols because of the support from the government and the general public.
Meanwhile, Munkhondya said police managed to sensitize motorists on best practices during this season. She added that this helped the area to record an accident-free Christmas celebration.
The Commanding Officer has since urged the public and motorists to continue adhering to the road traffic rules. The New Year celebrations have already started in many parts of Zambia.
After recording a safe and peaceful Christmas, the police and public of Northern Province would want to maintain the streak for the new year and going into 2024. The people of Kasama District and other regions of the province have applauded the administration for their success.
