Zimbabwe: Premier Soccer League (PSL) is returning after five years as the stakeholders of football know the fate of Rufaro Stadium and followed an inspection which was set to conduct during the facility.
The football league will be conducted in the Rufaro Stadium, while the CAPS United will host league debutants Bikita Minerals.
Considering this, CAPS United on its ‘X’ account shard that, “For an immediate release The Home of football, Rufaro Stadium was inspected and have been given the green light to be used.”
The FC added, “Tomorrow i.e. on March 28, 2024, CAPS United to host Bikita Minerals at 3:00 p.m. and the gate charges remain unchanged $3 rest of the ground and $5 for VIP. Let’s go out in full force.”
Previously, the Mbare Stadium hosted the topflight league game in the year 2019. Before this the stadium was shut to make way for renovations, which was commenced last year.
Reportedly, the refurbishment work is yet to be completed as the authorities have partially commenced the facility to host league matches.
Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) First Instance Board Team has made a final assessment of the stadium and gave them the facility a thumbs up to provisionally host matches while renovation works keeps on going.
Administrator of CAPS United – Morton Dodzo said, “It’s confirmed, we had our pre-match meeting at Rufaro this afternoon and yes, our game is on March 28.”

Friday, March 29, 2024: Highlanders vs Simba Bhora (Barbourfields), Hwange vs Bulawayo Chiefs (Colliery), Yadah vs Dynamos (Rufaro).
Sunday, March 31, 2024: Chegutu Pirates vs GreenFuel (Baobab), Chicken Inn vs ZPC Kariba (Luveve), Herentals vs FC Platinum (Nyamhunga), CAPS United vs Arenel Movers (Rufaro).

As per the sources, renovation work at the Rufaro Stadium have been moving at a snail’s pace and the supporters of the CAPS United have travelled to Kariba last week for their match against another Harare based club Herentals because of the stadium crisis in the capital.
The fans have voluntarily offered the labour to help in sprucing up the facility. The supporters and fans will be expecting a homecoming victory from the Llyod Chitembwe-coached side today against the league debutants.
