Pwani Youth Network hosted an Inception meeting of the Mosaic project in the Likoni subcounty of Kenya. The Meeting aimed to empower adolescent girls, young women, and other women in the fight against HIV.

The Meeting brought together various figures working in the health sector across the Likoni Sub-county.
These include:
– Stakeholders
– Government officials
– health promoters
– representatives from the civil society organisations
– Local administrators

The MOSAIC project focuses on accelerating the introduction and scale-up of new and emerging biomedical prevention products. It’s a giant leap toward preventing HIV and enhancing the overall health of the community. It is a powerful step towards a peaceful future by uniting children and teens of diverse backgrounds.

Maximizing Options to Advance Informed Choice for HIV Prevention (MOSAIC) is a five-year (2021-2026) global project funded by the U.S. The project aims to help adolescent girls, young women, and other women to prevent HIV.

Reportedly, The Pwani Youth Community is a community-based organisation working to facilitate the youth of the Country. The Community vision is “Kenyan youth progress and prosper”.

Its mission is “Inspiring the dream of Kenyan youth through all positive change .” The organization’s activities cover the Mombasa, Kilifi and Kwale Counties and target youth, children and women.

Recently, The Pwani Youth Network has collaborated with LVCT HEALTH through the Maximizing Options to Advance Informed Choice for HIV Prevention (MOSAIC). This Project was implemented in Mombasa with a critical focus on Mvita and Likoni Sub Counties.

Through the objective of strengthening and sustaining local partner capacity for MOSAIC, Pwani Youth Network will engage in capacity-strengthening activities focusing on technical and research competencies.

The Pwani Community will also get opportunities in various fields, including:-
– community/youth engagement
– community mobilization
– community education/literacy on biomedical HIV prevention options
– Psychosocial support activities to support the uptake and effective use of PrEP
– advocacy, and demand creation.

Pwani Youth Network conducted community mobilization, sensitizations and advocacy activities focusing on the new HIV prevention technologies.
