South Africa: The Reaction Unit South Africa has received the information of a rifle being transported to a high school in Brindhaven in KwaZulu Natal. The informer made the call to the Reaction Officers in the early hours of Wednesday.
The officials have shared the information they received with the other law enforcement partner agencies. The informer was not sure if the suspects wanted to intimidate or shoot the scholars of the high school at the end of the day.
After the call was received, the Reaction Officers stationed one member of the team outside the Brindhaven school in an unmarked vehicle. The officer was observing the area till the day at the school ended. At approximately 14:25 hours the reaction officers noticed some movement and called for backup.
The reaction officers noted that a rifle was removed from a green Citi Golf. A man then concealed the said weapon inside a light blue Nike Jacket. The officer then claimed the suspects took the weapon to a Blue Honda Ballade.
The vehicle was parked a few meters away and had three occupants sitting inside. The suspect gave the weapon to the occupants. After some time, the backup arrived and surrounded the school area, taking possession of the rifle in question.
The officials examined the weapon closely and realized that the rifle was a fake and did not pose a threat to the safety of the students. The officials were responsible for sharing the past records of all the suspects involved in the stunt.
The officials have been informed that two of the suspects had been previous students of the school and reported unruly behaviour. One of the suspects had recently completed his matriculation from the school in Brindhaven.
The second suspect had been expelled from the institution several years ago and had a history of violent behaviour. The third suspect has had a history of violence and has even faced prison time for inciting a gang fight around the school.
The fourth and final suspect did not have any history of assault, violence or crime to his name. The authorities have shared the image of the rifle which had been recovered from the suspects.
The people of the country have also expressed their sincere gratitude to the Reaction Unit for their swift action. They also enquired about the exact nature of the plan the suspects had been brewing.
The people have further shared their disappointment over the situation as the suspects may have wanted to incite insecurity among the students.
