Mauritius: Six students from the Lycée Moulin Joli de la Possession of Reunion Island completed a four week internship. The successful students were awarded certificates after working with the Metro Express Limited.
The handover of the certificates was done on Thursday, at the time, the students were interning at the the Station Operation and Customer Service Department of the Metro Express Ltd (MEL).
The images from the handover ceremony were shared on the social media account of the Mauritian government. The handover of the internship certificate was attended by many government officers.

The handing over ceremony for the certificates held at the Richelieu Depot. The Minister of land transport delivered a brief address at the event.
Minister Mahomed took the opportunity to congratulate the university students for successfully completing their internship in Mauritius. He highlighted how it was important to participate in the exchange programmes.
The Minister of Land Transport Mahomed Osman Cassam Mahomed urged the young ambassadors to share the knowledge that they have gained in the internship with the other youngsters.
The Minister also took the opportunity to discuss increasing the profitability of the MEL and reducing traffic congestion in the country. The Land Transport Minister highlighted the need to have more trains operational during peak hours of the day.
This will help make sure that more passengers could travel easily from one point to another on the island nation. The Minister has asked the beneficiaries of free public transport facilities to avoid travelling during peak time, between 07:00 to 09:00 in the morning.
The four week internship course was a joint collaboration between the MEL and Lycée Moulin Joli de la Possession of Reunion.
The internship started on 20 January 2025. The students who participated in the internship travelled with Professor Willy Begue to Mauritius. A batch of students from Reunion Island will be in Mauritius in March 2025 for similar internship.
