Mauritius: The Minister of Education and Human Resource, Dr Mahend Gungapersad has organized a meeting with the members of the education sector of Mauritius. The representatives of the Unions of Pre-Primary and Primary Educators were present at the meeting with the Minster.
The interaction was hosted at MITD House in Phoenix on Tuesday with important members of the education community in attendance. During this meeting, the Minister took the opportunity to discuss and address the various challenges and issues currently faced by educators.
Minister Gungapersad spoke to the media in this regard and shared the proceedings of the meeting. He said that the stakeholders in the education sector need to feel like a part of the bigger picture which makes these interactions important.
He has talked about keeping an open-minded approach and a commitment to communication to ensure that all stakeholders felt included.
He also wants to make sure that the education community can collaboratively work towards the achievement of the education sector’s objectives. The meeting with the representatives of the Unions of Pre-Primary and Primary Educators was highly fruitful for the sector.
They discussed many important topics during the meeting which may be causing problems in the smooth functioning of education sector. The Misyer of education promised to create a conducive environment for the effective operation of schools.
He also promised that the concerns and requests that the stakeholders have raised would be addressed. The meeting is proof of the Ministry’s commitment to ensuring that stakeholders are consulted on every important decision.
Additionally, the Education Minister said that the administration wants to make absolutely certain that children of the Republic of Mauritius received the education and living standard that they deserve.
The Ministry under Dr Mahend Gungapersad wants to make sure that the students of Mauritius have access to a better future ahead of them. He hopes that the the 2025 academic year gives the students many new opportunities to grow and improve.
