Dominica: Prime Minister of Dominica, Roosevelt Skerrit met Fabrizio Nicoletti, Ambassador of the Italian Republic to the Commonwealth of Dominica. The Ambassador paid a courtesy call on the Prime Minister of Dominica this week and was accorded a warm welcome.
The Prime Minister, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit shared that he was honoured to welcome the ambasador to his office. The meeting was hosted with the aim of improving collaboration opportunities between Dominica and Italy.
Notably, the two nations have enjoyed deep diplomatic ties with the commonwealth of Dominica that spans over decades. The countries have enjoyed a cordial collaboration with one another over the years.
Prime Minister took to his social media account to share some images from the meeting with Ambassador Nicoletti. He said that he was delighted to welcome the ambasador for the courtesy call.
The meeting became a platform for a variety of discussions crucial for both the nations. Notably, climate change, which is a cause of international concern was one of the topics under discussion.
The Ambassador, Nicoletti and the Prime Minister Skerrit promised to work together on addressing this crisis. On behalf of Italy, ambassador Nicoletti promised to work with the Commonwealth of Dominica on various avenues.
The Prime Minister also shared that during this meeting, they came across various areas where collaboration was possible between Italy and Dominica. The bilateral ties between the two nations have been strong for decades. However, in this meeting, Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit pledged to do more to nurture the relationship.
The two nations are looking into collaborative opportunities to improve the agriculture sector of Dominica. With support from International partners such as Italy, the administration wants to further their goal of improving food security and improving livelihoods of the people.
International cooperation remains one of the most important mandate for the Prime Minister of Dominica. He pledged to explore more areas where meaningful cooperation is possible.
